Have you started planning
your 2015 holiday yet? Now is the perfect time to do so, and of course,
Spain is the ideal location to choose. Even Hollywood says so.
Spain is quite literally
a world within one country with so much to offer, you are completely spoiled
for choice. Whether you are interested in staying in a holiday villa
or apartment, or an all-inclusive resort stay on the islands, you have
nothing but the best on offer.
Now for a brief idea of
your choices. You can choose to stay on the southern Spanish coast
and enjoy hot sunny beach holidays. If you find this a little too
hot for comfort, how about the northern coasts of Galicia
- beautiful green locations with sandy beaches, but a few degrees cooler.
If you prefer to stay inland,
you will find a choice of wonderful rural villas and cottages in the small
villages dotted all over the country.
You can live quite literally
like a Spaniard, enjoy tapas and a few drinks in the bar with the locals,
and sample the true Spanish cuisine in the many restaurants.
You might be in the mood
for an island holiday. Sorry to reuse the cliche, but again you will
be completely spoiled for choice!
With the wonderful Balearic
Islands, including Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera, you can
choose to stay close to the beach, or in one of the wonderful traditional
villages on the islands. In Ibiza you can, if you wish, stay in the
rural areas, but still enjoy the spectacular nightlife that Ibiza city
is famous for. |

A little further afield
are the Canary Islands
- located off the coast of Africa, these stunning volcanic islands have
a lot to offer too. Unusual scenery and black sand beaches are just
the start of what is on offer to the tourist.

Of interest is the fact
that Hollywood is now starting to use the Canary Islands as pretty much
a regular shooting location, so while holidaying you could actually do
a little celebrity spotting, or maybe end up appearing in one of the scenes
of the movie.
One example is that Australian
actor and Thor character Chris Hemsworth was spotted on La Gomera with
his lovely Spanish wife, Elsa Pataky (of Fast & Furious fame), as scenes
were filmed for the upcoming film by Ron Howard, "In the Heart of the Sea."
The movie is based on the story that inspired Herman Melville to write
his classic novel, "Moby Dick."
Also that famous filmmaker,
Ridley Scott, was busy in two Spanish locations filming the epic,
"Exodus", based on the life of Moses.
He chose a couple of great
locations - first Almeria in southern Spain was the setting for the exodus
of the Jews, with their next location being the popular tourist island
of Formentera in the Canary Islands, virtually right next door to Hemsworth's
island set. |
Even more recently, episodes
of the next season of "Game of Thrones" were filmed in Seville and the
surrounding area. Suffice to say that Spain is a great and stellar choice
for your holiday this year and whether you stay in a hostel, a luxury resort
or your own private holiday villa, you will have the best time ever.
